Navigating Azure Migrate- Your Pathway to Seamless Cloud Transformation
Navigating Azure Migrate: Your Pathway to Seamless Cloud Transformation
Azure Migrate is a powerful service that simplifies the journey to the cloud, providing a comprehensive platform for migration, modernization, and optimization. Whether you’re looking to migrate servers, databases, web apps, or virtual desktops, Azure Migrate offers a range of integrated tools to streamline the process.
Unified Migration Platform
At the heart of Azure Migrate is a single, centralized portal that allows you to start, run, and track your migration to Azure. This unified approach helps you stay in control of your cloud transformation, with a clear view of your progress every step of the way.
Integrated Tools for Assessment and Migration
Azure Migrate offers a diverse set of tools to assess and migrate your on-premises resources. The Azure Migrate: Discovery and Assessment tool helps you evaluate the readiness and sizing requirements for your servers, SQL Servers, and web apps. Meanwhile, the Migration and Modernization tool facilitates the actual migration of your VMware VMs, Hyper-V VMs, physical servers, and even web apps hosted in a VMware environment.
Leveraging ISV Integrations
Azure Migrate extends its capabilities by integrating with a wide range of independent software vendors (ISVs). These partnerships allow you to leverage specialized tools for tasks like server assessment, database migration, and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) migration. Seamlessly integrate solutions from partners like Carbonite, Cloudamize, CloudSphere, Corent Technology, Device42, Lakeside, RackWare, Turbonomic, UnifyCloud, and Zerto to enhance your cloud migration journey.
Navigating Azure Migrate Versions
It’s important to note that there are two versions of Azure Migrate: the current version and the previous (classic) version. The current version offers the most comprehensive set of features and tools, and it’s the one you should focus on when planning your cloud migration. The classic version, which is retiring in February 2024, only supports the assessment of on-premises servers running on VMware.
